Educator Workforce: Academic and Clinical

Workstream overview

This workstream was divided into 5 projects:

1. Continue to support and grow engagement with Radiography Educators, supporting regular meetings and educators' workstreams at the following events in 2024: Annual Radiography Educators conference, UK Imaging and Oncology (UKIO) and the Annual Radiotherapy Conference 
2. Explore educator development planning with key stakeholders 
3. Develop a practice educators' network and associated resources 
4. Promote and develop PEAS with a writing retreat and network 
5. Publish more case studies to promote educators' roles within the ECF and promotion of careers within the ECF

4.1 Academic Educators: Heads of Radiography Education Group 

An internal project to support and grow engagement with the Heads of Radiography Education (HRE) group. This was achieved via the annual HRE conference, events at UK Imaging and Oncology (UKIO) and Annual Radiotherapy Conference (ARC) and supporting regular HRE meetings. The HRE constitution was revisited during this project, and a new chair and vice chair were elected. 

4.2 Academic Educators: Growing Educator Capabilities and Capacity

This internal project included discussions with other AHP professional bodies on growing educator capacity and capabilities and a workshop and handout at the  Achieving Excellence in Radiography Education & Research Conference. 

4.3 Practice Educators: Network

An internal project to develop a practice educators' network, and increase resources and opportunities for support. A workshop and handout at the Achieving Excellence in Radiography Education & Research (ARE) Conference increased awareness of the CoR Practice Educator Accreditation Scheme (PEAS).

4.4 Practice Educators: Writing Retreat

An SCoR project to grow engagement with CoR Practice Educator Accreditation Scheme (PEAS) and to increase the number of applications via a  writing retreat and network.

4.5 Practice Educators: Case Studies

The SoR has gathered case studies from radiography professionals working across education to support its Education and Career Framework (ECF) for the radiography workforce.
