The Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme and NHSE National Imaging Transformation Programme are looking to recruit a radiology manager to support the Interventional Radiology Reviews across England. The purpose of these reviews is to identify good practice, reduce unwarranted variation between providers and networks, and drive forward service improvement.
The position-holder will be expected to deliver data-led reviews with services to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement, and developing key recommendations. .
The post holder will need work closely with the interventional radiology GIRFT clinical lead as well as key stakeholders, including provider clinical leads and radiology managers, regional clinical teams, ICBS and royal colleges and societies.
The appointment is offered via a MoU agreement with your substantive employer for a fixed term of 12 months. This is a Band 8a position at 0.2 WTE.
Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) is an NHS England programme designed to improve the quality of care within the NHS by reducing unwarranted variation. By tackling variations in the way services are delivered across the NHS, and by sharing best practice between providers and systems, GIRFT identifies changes that will help improve care and patient outcomes.
Importantly, GIRFT is led by frontline clinicians who are expert in the areas they are reviewing. This means the data that underpins the GIRFT methodology is being reviewed by people who understand those disciplines and manage those services. The GIRFT national workstream team visit every locality/provider carrying out the specialties they are reviewing, investigating the data with their peers and discussing the individual challenges they face.
The radiology manager will support the interventional radiology clinical lead, using the principles of GIRFT reviews to promote improvement by highlighting unwarranted variation in quality of outcomes, processes, efficiency and identifying good practice.
