The policy of the Society and College of Radiographers is to support the introduction of primary (BSc) degrees in ultrasound as one of the ways of increasing sonographer numbers although there are many complex issues that must first be addressed. This briefing document outlines the key areas that will need to be considered . It is not meant to be prescriptive but does provide a discussion framework for Higher Education Institutions, service providers, Local Education and Training Boards (England) and other regional and national organisations.
