The role of the expert witness: A guide for clinical imaging and therapeutic practitioners

The role of the expert witness has increased in complexity over recent years. This document has been written by experienced SCoR members who undertake expert witness work. The document complements the Health Education England and the SoR elearning for health resources and aims to support those new to the expert witness role or members taking on different aspects of the expert witness role.

The document provides an introduction to some of the information a practitioner might need to consider when starting out as an expert witness in civil cases or fitness to practise cases. It also covers the challenges and benefits to being an expert witness.
