The Public Voluntary Register of Sonographers (PVRS) which was run by the College of Radiographers closed on February 28th 2021.
Sonographers listed upon it who wished to do so were able to apply to transfer their voluntary registration to the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) accredited (voluntary) Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT).
The transfer window closed on April 30th 2021. For general information on PSA accredited registers please see here.

Sonographers may also be statutorily registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Council or the General Chiropractic Council, depending on their professional background.
