Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month #MUAM

Celebrating the wide world of ultrasound

Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month (MUAM)

For the past seven years, we’ve dedicated October to Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month – an initiative that aims to raise the profile of sonographers and their role in patient care.

Sonographers are highly skilled experts in ultrasound scanning, interpretation and diagnosis. They work across a wide range of areas from pregnancy scanning and newborn babies to abdominal, cardiology and gynaecology, veins and arteries, muscles and tendons, lumps and bumps and so much more. Most sonographers scan humans, but some also scan animals. Click the infographic on the right for more information on the role of the sonographer.
