In recognition of the continuing importance of these roles we are delighted to announce that the College of Radiographers’ (CoR) Accreditation Scheme for the support workforce is now live!
Holding CoR accreditation demonstrates a personal and organisational commitment to professionalism and standards. It evidences to your colleagues, employer and patients using the service that you apply the professional body standards through your clinical practice.
Both the Assistant Practitioner and our newly created Mammography Associate CoR accreditation schemes have been developed and streamlined alongside our recently launched Education and Career Framework. In addition, the schemes will recognise those who have completed CoR approved programmes of study allowing application through a fast-track route.
Successful applicants are cited on the CoR Accredited AP public voluntary register. The register enables members of the public to confirm that the Assistant Practitioner undertaking their examination or treatment is appropriately trained and qualified.
Dr Rachel Harris, Head of Professional Practice and Education adds, “We are proud to relaunch our accreditation scheme to promote and celebrate the role of Assistant Practitioners’. The team has listened to members and revised the pathways to streamline the requirements whilst maintaining the need to quality assure practice standards. We are also delighted to add a new pathway to the accreditation family of Mammography Associate. Recognising and developing this accreditation pathway will support the workforce growth in this critical area to support high quality patient care.”
