Nominations for the Radiography Awards 2024 have now opened, allowing members of the Society of Radiographers to put forward teams and colleagues for consideration.
Held each year in November, the Radiography Awards has become a well-established celebration of the profession and of good practice in all aspects of radiography. The event celebrates the stand-out individuals, teams, and students from across the UK who have made a positive difference to patient care, service delivery or those who have excelled academically. The date and venue for the 2024 awards will be announced in due course.
Awards open for nominations include Radiography Team of the Year and Professional of the Year.
Radiography Professional of the Year award aims to recognise a remarkable individual’s contribution to the profession. They are committed to delivering outstanding patient care and have made a positive impact on service delivery and teams.
The Radiography Team of the Year award celebrates a stand-out team who use innovative practices to improve service delivery or radiography education. They demonstrate exceptional multi-professional collaboration and are committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
New changes
The student award category has become the Radiographer Learner of the Year Award, and now offers more opportunities to recognise the achievements of students and apprentices. Similar to the Professional and Team of the Year, Learner of the Year offers one award per region or country and an overall UK award too.
This award recognises a student or apprentice who has demonstrated passion for the profession. They have excelled academically and clinically, delivered high levels of patient care, and have contributed positively to the student cohort, working environment and/or wider radiography community.
A Radiography Educator of the Year award has also been introduced, to spotlight educators improving student learning experiences. This award is entirely student and apprentice nominated.
This award honours an educator in radiography who is committed to improving the learning experiences of radiography students and degree apprentices. They promote inclusive learning environments, use innovative teaching methods, and inspire their students.
Inspiring practice
Richard Evans, CEO of the SoR, said: “If you’ve been inspired by an individual or team, enter them for an award using the relevant nomination form below so we can celebrate their contribution to our community.”
Submission deadline is 11.59pm on Wednesday 31 July 2024.
The Rep of the Year will now be celebrated at the Annual Delegates Conference. Nominations for this award will open later this year.
