The Radiography journal board has opened applications for an associate editor to join the team.
Successful candidates will work under the guidance of the Editorial Leadership Team and will be responsible for guiding selected manuscripts through the peer review process and making editorial decisions on behalf of the editor-in-chief.
Ideal applicants should have a radiography or medical radiation sciences qualification and at least five years of experience in the field, experience writing for publication and in peer review, and be knowledgeable across a range of research methods.
The associate editor is expected to fill an expert role in the editorial team, including:
Participation in Editorial Board meetings is expected, as well as feeding into the board on professional policy and practice to ensure the journal remains internationally relevant and increases its global reach.
Alongside these responsibilities, applicants will contribute to and/or source guest editorials, podcasts, invited commentaries, and review articles from key contacts in your geographical region and subject area.
Other duties include promoting the journal to potential authors, reviewers and readers, such as engaging in outreach activities through webinars and at key conferences to encourage submissions from both novice and experienced authors.
Once selected, the associate editor will be appointed for a term of three years (subject to mutually agreed extension) and paid an annual honorarium.
The successful applicant will agree not to perform simultaneous editorial activities for any other scientific journal which may be considered in competition with the Journal.
