The Society of Radiographers and NHS England have announced two radiography careers events specifically for the armed forces community.
If you're considering a career in radiography after leaving the forces, these two free virtual events, covering diagnostic and therapeutic radiography, offer the opportunity to learn more about the profession and hear from working radiographers.
Brought to you by NHS England and hosted by the Society of Radiographers, these two-hour sessions are being held on Tuesday 2 July (diagnostic radiography) and Wednesday 3 July 2024 (therapeutic radiography).
Michelle Tyler, the SoR's professional officer for careers promotion and outreach, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to attract individuals with valuable life experience and transferable skills from the armed forces into our radiography workforce community.
"We were delighted to work with NHS England on this important initiative. Thank you in advance to all those members who can spread the word about these events to their networks within armed forces. Likewise, we are really grateful to the members who have already offered to support and take part."
These events are part of a new NHS drive to recruit armed forces veterans into allied health professions as part of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan.
Universities across England are hosting a series of open days across the country, using innovative technology to give attendees a virtual, real-time insight into some of the different careers on offer.
