Expressions of interest are invited from the SoR members who would like to be considered for appointment to positions across the Society’s advisory groups.
Applications will be taken from all sections of the radiography community and from all four UK countries.

The groups for which vacancies are waiting to be filled include:
1. Consultant Radiographers Advisory Group (CRAG) – two vacancies
The CRAG provides leadership and advice in the development and support of trainee consultant and consultant practitioner roles in clinical imaging and therapeutic radiography services.
2. Diagnostic Imaging Advisory Group (DIAG) – one vacancy, applications from members in Scotland particularly encouraged
The DIAG aims to make a significant contribution to the development of the profession and in raising its profile nationally. A rising focus on productivity has combined with workforce efficiency, improving access and increasing consumer expectations to create an urgency to review patterns of practice.
3. Magnetic Resonance Advisory Group (MRAG) – four vacancies
The MRAG’s remit includes acting as a forum for all magnetic resonance matters affecting radiographers, providing advice and guidance for SoR and its members, and on the future strategic direction of the magnetic resonance modality. It also helps develop professional guidance for approval and publication by the SoR.
4. Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Advisory Group (NMAG) – one vacancy
The NMAG supports and encourages education in nuclear medicine and promotes educational programmes by providing information and advice to support the SoR in strategy development, promoting policies, strategies and publications to the benefit of service, practitioners and patients.
5. Radiotherapy Advisory Group (RAG) – four vacancies
The RAG has made a significant contribution to the development of the profession and in raising its profile nationally, and provides advice and information around the continuing education and professional development needs of Therapeutic Radiographers. It promotes explicit career development pathways, in line with organisation policy, across all aspects of the profession.
6. Radiographic Informatics Advisory Group (RIAG) – three vacancies
The RIAG covers a range of areas which employ IT for clinical imaging and therapeutic radiography services, including the generation, handling, communication, storage, retrieval, management, analysis and synthesis of data and knowledge. The purpose of RIAG is to enable the SoR to keep up to date with and influence developments, and to support and advise members on dealing with informatics issues.
7. Ultrasound Advisory Group (UAG) – one vacancy
The UAG provides the SoR with advice on strategic direction for the profession and the appropriate support to deliver service improvements within the interprofessional environment of ultrasound. It promotes SoR policy, strategy and membership while providing information and support for the Society.
8. Research Advisory Group (RAG) – four vacancies
The RAG contributes to both CoR research activity and to the development of responses for national and international consultations on research related matters, while also encouraging all radiographers to use research in their practice and to promote radiography’s unique knowledge base.
9. Insight Editorial Board – seven vacancies, therapeutic or diagnostic with a paediatric element.
The Insight Editorial Board reviews submissions and supports authors in developing abstracts and/or pitches into full-length articles for submission to the journal.
10. Computed Tomography Advisory Group - one vacancy
The CT Advisory Group is instrumental in safeguarding the interests of CT service users by developing and promoting safety and best practice.
