The spring 2024 edition of Insight journal is now available.
Insight, the official Continuing Professional Development (CPD) publication of the SoR, gives radiographers the chance to write about career and educational subjects with an impact on clinical roles.
The latest edition of the journal features five articles and one case study, as well as a regular Reporting Snippet feature from Nick Bithray, on topics ranging from the impact of ultrasound machine settings on scan outputs, to a case study on the value of lifelong learning in radiography.
In this newest edition of Insight, the guest editorial was written by Holly Spencer, a member of the Insight Editorial Board, lecturer in medical ultrasound at AECC University College, and ultrasound practice educator at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.
Holly said: “The depth and breadth of topics on display are a testament to the profession and the excellent work carried out by its members. Within these pages, radiographers will find many sources of inspiration and innovation to support their continuing professional development."
The spring edition also features a case report by Helena Stephens, describing a rare example of intraparenchymal leiomyoma of the male breast, which appears to be only the second documented case of its kind.
Also included in this edition is an interview between Melanie Clarkson and Sheila Hassan, in which Sheila describes her career journey and the integral role education has played, having completed a master’s degree at the age of 65.
Insight is the official CPD publication of the Society of Radiographers and aims to provide an opportunity for radiographers to write about professional and educational subjects that have a direct bearing on their clinical role.
Authors also contributed in order to share information, ideas, and CPD opportunities relevant to the science and practice of diagnostic radiography and therapeutic radiography.
