The spring 2025 edition of Insight journal is now available.
Insight, the official Continuing Professional Development (CPD) publication of the SoR, gives radiographers the chance to write about career and educational subjects with an impact on clinical roles.
The latest edition of the journal features spotlight articles and case studies, as well as an editorial review from chair of the editorial board Laurence Skermer, on topics ranging from AI in neuroimaging to sustainability in cancer care.
'Hitherto unthought-of innovation'
Laurence said: “As radiographers, we have long known there is more to treatment than technology and drug interventions. The great fascination of radiography is the blend of holistic patient care and science.
“Throughout my career, hitherto unthought-of innovations have become mainstream. The latest to start taking hold is artificial intelligence. Two articles in this edition shed interesting light on the technology. There is no doubt, however, that AI is developing rapidly and will impact every aspect of our profession in the near future.”
The spring edition also features a case study by Simon Girling, describing complications associated with scanning a subcutaneous sarcoma, and the limitations of common techniques due to using just one gamma camera.
Also included in this edition is a literature review exploring Therapeutic Radiographer perspectives on smoking cessation support and training – and how it can be a service improvement opportunity.

Insight is the official CPD publication of the Society of Radiographers and aims to provide an opportunity for radiographers to write about professional and educational subjects that have a direct bearing on their clinical role.
Authors also contributed in order to share information, ideas, and CPD opportunities relevant to the science and practice of diagnostic radiography and therapeutic radiography.
