Founded in 1920, the Society of Radiographers (SoR) is the only body in the UK representing the whole of the radiographic workforce. SoR is a trade union and professional body representing the professional, educational, public and workplace interests of its 30,000 members. The College is a charitable body registered in England and Scotland.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of National and Regional Officers. We are looking for two positive and knowledgeable leaders with the skills, capacity and enthusiasm to influence and lead on all aspects of industrial relations in the Eastern and London Regions respectively.
You’ll advise, support and coach our team of local representatives working across NHS trusts and private sector health providers, in all areas of their work supporting SoR members. This will include proactively supporting all the work of our Regional Committee.
You will have an opportunity to influence health policy and outcomes for SoR members by making representations to employers and wider stakeholders. This will include the Regional Social Partnership Forums, alongside other health unions in either the Eastern or London Regions.
You’ll also contribute to policy development and practice inside the Society, and may be expected to take a national lead in one or more relevant subjects as part of our National and Regional Officer team.
You will co-ordinate and help deliver our representative recruitment, development and training programmes to maximise the effectiveness of local member support and engagement across the region with further opportunities to help, shape and develop our UK wide programmes.
You will also work in close partnership with the College’s Professional and Education Officer team.
The Eastern Regional Officer will be home based and covers Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
The London Regional Officer will be based at the London HQ, SE1 and covers all 33 London boroughs.
Both roles allows a high degree of flexibility, although there is an expectation for some evening working to support regional and national activities, as well as some travel - including some overnight stays away from home, especially to attend National SoR events. Successful candidates will therefore be expected to have a full driving licence.
No agencies please.
The SCoR is committed to equal opportunities and values diversity in its workforce.
