The Society of Radiographers is encouraging sign-ups to the 2024 Community for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR) conference.
Entitled 'Growing our community for allied health research', the free online conference will take place on 9 October from 10am to 3pm.
Attendees will hear from members of the CAHPR throughout the day, with the organisation's chair Professor Dawn Carnes and director Corrina Grimes set to feature. A number of allied health professionals (AHPs) also feature in the line-up.
Hub users, hub leads and grant recipients will share their experience of being part of a CAHPR hub, and attendees will also hear an update on the CAHPR communities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The conference aims to educate and inform attendees about allied health research and its place in the wider health and social care community. Anyone with an interest in allied health research is welcome to attend - such as clinicians, educators and researchers.
Those interested can sign up for the conference here.
CAHPR is a network for volunteers that promote and support AHP research. It works with stakeholders to encourage AHP's to take part in research activities.
Originally called the Council for Allied Health Professions Research, the CAHPR was first launched in November 2014. It was the result of a collaborative effort from the Research Forum for Allied Health (RFAHP) and the Allied Health Professions Research Network (AHPRN).
The organisation is supported by 14 AHP groups. It aims to improve overall health and care through research conducted by AHP's, evidence-led practice, evaluation and innovation.
There are 23 regional hubs of the CAHPR, with the overall aim to support allied health professionals to develop research skills and to promote the use of the evolving evidence-base in practice. CAHPR hubs are able to provide research advice and support.
Those interested in learning more about CAHPR can find their local regional research hub, details on policy and consultation responses and more here.
