A minute’s silence will be held on 28 April for International Workers Memorial Day, recognising the sacrifices made by ordinary working people, and Society members are invited to take part.
Every year, the Trades Union Congress (TUC) remembers those who have lost their lives at work or who have suffered a work-related injury. This year, the focus of the call is for all employers to recognise the sacrifices being made by key workers in the pandemic.
The national one-minute silence will take place at 11am on Tuesday 28 April.
The initiative is supported by the UK government, but the SoR encourage members to ask their managers if they can participate. An e-mail has been sent to all SoR reps to make them aware.
