As the countdown to the RCR’s Global AI Conference continues, SoR members are urged to book now for discounted ticket prices

The Royal College of Radiologists is holding its Global AI Conference next month, and SoR members are urged to book their tickets now for discounted rates.

This inaugural conference will welcome attendees both in-person and online to hear from a diverse range of clinical specialities about the future of AI in healthcare.

Global AI leaders, inspirational keynote speakers and subject matter experts will explore the opportunities, challenges and innovative approaches being tested across all healthcare specialties.

Book by 19 January to save up to £50 in ticket prices.

Unique insights

RCR’s dynamic and engaging conference is composed of five ‘streams’, each of which offer unique information and insight into their component sessions.

These streams include:

  • Education and research in imaging AI - Learn about funded AI projects across radiology, oncology and other clinical specialties, highlighting experiences and challenges in AI development, workforce and network developments. Stream leads -Dr Rhidian Bramley andDr Amrita Kumar
  • AI in society, leadership and the patient perspective - Learn about where AI developments sit within legal, sustainability and ethical frameworks, learning from leaders in the field and what patients think about the work. Stream leads - Dr Raj Jena and Dr Susan Shelmerdine
  • Governance and regulation - Hear about the latest developments on policy/regulation, validation, managing risk, post-market surveillance, health economics and what the future holds. Stream leads - Dr Hugh Harvey and Professor Rowena Johnson 
  • Implementation in practice - Hear from the latest pioneers in implementation AI within the NHS, showcasing successes alongside highlighting the challenges that have been overcome, and those that still remain. Stream leads - Professor Owen J Arthurs and Dr James Wang
  • AI Showcase - Join a morning taster session from CRAI blended learning course, where you'll get a snippet of how you can continue building your AI knowledge post conference. Then, spend the afternoon learning from real-world applications, gain insights from experts and participate in live Q&A sessions with the teams behind shortlisted projects funded by NHS England

Dr Katherine Halliday, RCR president, said: “AI is already transforming healthcare, but it is bringing with it complex challenges as well as exciting benefits. The RCR’s global AI conference will bring an exciting mix of research, innovation, and practical application, enabling doctors, healthcare professionals and managers to learn from others and ensure that AI delivers all that we hope.”

Benefits of attendance

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from more than 120 AI experts, using real case studies and insights from top NHS and government representatives.

In-person attendees will be able to connect with colleagues and meet new peers, while online attendees will benefit from the flexible attendance policy.

Also available at the conference is an exhibition hall, abstract showcase, radiology-themed escape room and an inclusive drinks reception at the close of day one.

Registrants can gain up to 16 CPD credits and over 50 additional credits by viewing online recordings and self-certifying post-conference.

The Global AI Conference will take place on 3-4 February 2025, at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, Broad Sanctuary in Westminster, London SW1P 3EE and online.
