Postal ballots for the Eastern rep and South East rep on the SoR UK Council are now open, with members in those regions set to receive yellow voting envelopes in the post.
Nominations for UK Council positions have now closed and two candidates are standing as representatives for each of these regions.
The elected representative will advocate for member interests at the highest level of the SoR and will serve for a minimum term of three years.
Katie Thompson, SoR president elect, said: "As a member organisation it is a great opportunity to get involved in the operations and management of the SoR, with influence on both policy and organisation direction. Now is an exciting time, with the launch of the strategy giving us clear focus for new board directors to help deliver."
SoR UK Council is the Board of Directors and the governing Executive Committee for all the society’s activities. Members of the Council are elected from the membership by other members on a regional basis.

Members should be on the lookout for an envelope arriving in the post next week from the society’s independent scrutineer, Civica Election Services, which will contain information about the candidates, their election statements, a ballot paper and a pre-paid return envelope.
To cast your vote, members should read the statements carefully, make their selection, and return the completed ballot paper by noon on Friday 9 May 2025.
