The Scottish Council Study Day and Annual General Meeting’s theme this year emphasises the importance of “Shining a light on Scottish excellence”.
A varied programme of invited speakers will cover topics including the radiographer’s role in identifying victims of human trafficking, dementia awareness for AHPs, advances in equipment and PhD experiences.
Taking place from 10.30am-4.30pm at the Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue, attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in a raffle to support dementia charity Alzheimers Scotland.
Members from both diagnostic and therapeutic departments will find something interesting in the day’s programme, a spokesperson for the Society emphasised.
Claire Donaldson, superintendent radiographer at NHS Tayside, said: “At a time where everyone is under the same pressures, the Scottish Council Study Day is a chance for Scottish SoR members to meet face to face with people from other departments throughout Scotland, it's a great opportunity to share good practice and network.”
Following a talk on the Scottish Council’s future strategy, the study day will be hosting SoR president Tom Welton, who will speak about his work in the Society.
Attendees will also be updated on the implementation of the inclusive pregnancy survey motion raised at the Annual Delegates Conference, on the success of the Institute of Neurosciences Radiology and on human factors in practice.
Scottish Council will also be holding its AGM on the same day.
All full members of the SoR in Scotland are welcome to attend this part of the programme, to hear about the work Scottish Council have been doing during the past year.
Radiography students from local universities will have reduced prices.
