The SoR is highlighting three upcoming study days being held for the Eastern Region, Northern Ireland and London.
These study days will provide packed programmes of lectures given by experienced professionals from across radiography, discussing imaging techniques, career progression and Society activity.
Talks will be given by industry professionals and firms, covering specific modalities, new technologies and more.
Taking place from 9am at the University of Suffolk, Ipswich on Saturday 14 September 2024, the Eastern study day will also feature a raffle with “fantastic” prizes in honour of the SoR’s Benevolent Fund.
A total of eight speakers will present on various radiology and imaging cases, procedures and services.
Cases covered include CT pulmonary angiograms, the journey from medic to registrar, how to set up a forensic service and post-mortem CT and the path from clinical support worker to radiology manager.
Tom Welton, SoR president and Sue Webb, Eastern Regional Committee member, will be in attendance to introduce the study day, with Katie Thompson, SoR president elect, giving a talk on 'ultrasound magic'. Professor Ruth Strudwick will give her own talk on going from radiographer to professor later in the day.

Beginning on Saturday 12 October at Lough Erne Resort, Fermanagh, the day’s programme for 2024 focuses on mental health and the wellbeing of members.
It will feature presentations related to AHP Problem Based Learning, HCPC, and students, and the AGM will be followed by dinner and entertainment.
President Tom Welton and chair of Northern Ireland CouncilAnn Tate will open proceedings, before a paramedic practice educator will discuss Ulster University’s first cohort of paramedic students and how they experienced learning in a busy clinical imaging department.
Dr Ram Senasi, who spoke at UKIO in June will be addressing the audience on 'the power of the team', while Florence Milliken, Health and Care Professions Council professional liaison consultant for Northern Ireland, will discuss her role.
Ulster University Health Sciences underwent revalidation in 2024, and a clinical imaging lecturer and a radiotherapy and oncology lecturer will update attendees on this process and changes made that may impact undergraduate clinical placements.
Terri Gilleece will be talking about her experience moving from lecturer for 19 years to clinical practice in nuclear medicine.

The London Region Study day will take place from 9.30pm to 4pm at Novotel London West, Hammersmith, on Saturday 19 October. This year’s theme focuses on ‘Learning from Industry’.
Following an introduction from SoR Council president elect Katie Thompson, attendees will hear from industry partners GE Healthcare, Philips, Guerbet, Elekta, and Qure.ai.
Also on offer are speeches on transitioning from clinical to industry work, ultrasound, and on the SoR’s professional practice and education team.
Aimed at therapeutic, diagnostic and student radiographers, there will be talks on CT, MRI, contrast media, AI, radiotherapy and the College of Radiographers Industry Partnership Scheme.
