The UK Imaging and Oncology conference has opened for its registrations for the 2024 event.
Tickets for this year's event opened on 2 January, with radiographers and other experts invited along to three days of professional development in Liverpool, starting on 10 June, 2024.
The UKIO congress is a three-day event that aims to showcase cutting-edge content around the medical, scientific, educational, and management issues affecting diagnostic imaging, oncology, and radiological service providers.
Alongside this is an exhibition of the latest equipment, services and technology available in the industry. The event attracts around 2,000 attendees each year.
Registration is opening with a New Year sale, bringing an additional 10 per cnt off of the early-bird fees until 9 January.
The conference provides practice-based content for a multidisciplinary audience to join up with like-minded professionals for three days of continuing professional development and delegate-focused education.
This year, UKIO 2024, is entitled “Vision and values: Putting people first” and provides a programme focused on people, with more opportunity to “hear the patient voice” and content focused on workforce wellbeing.
The programme will also provide refresher-based clinical sessions, hands-on and case-based workshops, and the return of the research hub. Dedicated sessions on pitching projects, presenting for the first time, and sessions on innovation, technology and service delivery from industry partners are also included.
The Wednesday programme further includes a full day of sessions aimed at students, which will be free to attend.
The full programme will be published early in 2024.
The congress also allows the opportunity to have work be recognised by key professionals from the imaging and oncology field. The conference invites imaging and oncology papers on clinical practice, education, or research.
Abstracts for research, scientific presentations, as well as case studies, pictorial review, and audit can be considered for submission, as well as sharing of best practice and workforce developments.
Prizes will be awarded to the best oral and e-poster presentations and accepted abstracts will be published. The deadline to submit an abstract is 23:59 on Sunday, 11 February 2024.
The UKIO congress is an amalgamation of the UK Radiological Congress and the UK Radiation Oncology Conference that first ran in 2019, and is organised by the Radiology Oncology Congresses, a charitable partnership of the British Institute of Radiology, The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine and The College of Radiographers.
