Radiographers are being urged to attend the United Kingdom Imaging and Oncology (UKIO) conference in 2025 to learn more about sustainability.
Taking place from 2-4 June at ACC Liverpool, the 2025 theme is “Community and Consciousness: One Health”.
The conference aims to encourage the radiography community to think about sustainability and the importance of considering the impact of the individual on the “global village”.
A spokesperson for the SoR said: “The health of the population and the health of the planet are intrinsically connected and so this year’s congress will also continue last year’s theme of ‘putting people first’, both in terms of patients and also the sustainability, health and wellbeing of the workforce.”
UKIO is the annual conference for imaging and oncology specialists, providing cutting-edge, practice-based content appropriate for a multidisciplinary workforce.
Like-minded professionals will come together for up to three days of continuing professional development and to visit the professional exhibition, where industry partners display the latest state-of-the-art equipment, services and technology.
Its multidisciplinary programme, put together by the UKIO working party, will be released early next year, and will include exclusive speakers and a plenary programme, refresher-based clinical sessions and hands-on, case-based workshops.
Also on offer are proffered papers sessions, ePosters, the return of the Research Hub, and the Pitch Your Project initiative.
Attendees will be able to learn from curated sessions on innovation, technology and service delivery, as well as the Education on the Stands programme, which provides insight into the latest technologies and methods through short educational activities run on exhibitor stands. Dedicated sessions for trainees and students are also available.
The exhibition hall will also provide access to the Radiotherapy Hub and key suppliers of radiography technology, alongside opportunities for networking, socialising and wellness activities.
Wednesday’s events will be free to access, and team tickets or exhibition-only tickets will be available.
Registration will open before the end of the year, and members are advised to look out for updates and early booking discounts.
