The World Radiography Day poster competition has now opened for submission, and the SoR is calling on members to design a poster for the event.

The winning poster will be distributed to hundred of imaging and radiotherapy departments across the UK.

This year’s theme is “Radiographers: Seeing the Unseen”.

To enter, submit your work via our Poster Competition Entry Form, by 23:59 on 26 July 2024.

'Awareness of radiographic careers'

A spokesperson for the SoR said: “You don’t need to be an artist to enter! We’re interested in the idea and message you work conveys, not your artistic ability. Successful designs will be translated to a standard that can be printed on a poster.

“Help us increase public awareness of radiographic careers and the amazing work that you do.”

To enter, you must be a current SoR member. You should only enter the competition once, uploading one concept or document in total. You may use the medium of your choice to create your artwork.

Winners and runners up from the past two poster competitions will not be able to enter this round.

'Vital contribution to modern healthcare'

In addition to your design being included in our WRD packs, winners will also receive:

  • A cash equivalent of a year’s membership
  • A framed copy of your poster
  • A profile in Synergy

World Radiography Day is celebrated on November 8 every year, marking the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.

Radiography professionals worldwide can use the day to promote radiography as a career, as a vital contribution to modern healthcare, and as an opportunity to increase public awareness of diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy.
