A new publication, A Digital Framework for Allied Health Professionals, has been launched to support commissioners and managers in making patient records digital and interoperable.
Suzanne Rastrick, chief allied health professions officer for NHS England commented, “We have an individual and collective responsibility to play a role in the development of these digital and data capabilities, anticipating the challenges and realising the benefits.
“AHPs will need to clearly articulate what technologies and capabilities are required and what impact this will have on patient care and service delivery. This Digital Framework for Allied Health Professionals supports local services to help them to do this.”
The document is intended to create a structured approach that AHPs can use to start assessing and acting on current levels of digitisation, following on from the details in the NHS Long Term Plan.
