Reporting dual energy X-ray absorptiometry scans in adult fracture risk assessment: Standards for quality by the Royal Osteoporosis Society also includes additional components of a comprehensive fracture risk assessment, such as vertebral fracture assessment (VFA) scanning and detailed clinical risk factor profiles.
It supports healthcare professionals reporting axial DXA scans to meet standards outlined in Quality Standards for Osteoporosis and Prevention of Fragility Fractures.
The standards apply if you:

• Supervise non-medical health professionals who report scans
• Use DXA reports
• Are a service manager or commissioner
