A radiographer is joining a new forum to support the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan.
Penny Owens, director of allied health professionals at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, will join a wide range of professionals on the NHS Assembly.
Advising the boards of NHS England and NHS Improvement, the Assembly will meet quarterly to inform discussion on the NHS’s work and priorities.
More than 500 people applied to sit on the Assembly and the successful candidates were chosen based on knowledge, skills and experience.
Simon Stevens, chief executive of NHS England commented, “The NHS Assembly rightly reflects a wide diversity of patient, public and staff views and expertise. It builds on the inclusive process for designing the NHS Long Term Plan and will help guide its implementation in the years to come.”
Professionals on the Assembly board includes clinicians from a variety of professions, as well as GPs, pharmacists and charity CEOs. The full list can be found here.
