A radiographer has been struck off the HCPC Register following a review of a suspension order imposed last year resulting from misconduct and dishonesty.
Julie Taylor was handed a mandatory 12-month suspension in July 2015 whilst employed at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospital Foundation Trust, after she was alleged to have provided inaccurate and dishonest explanations regarding her absences from work.
Panel Member Rachel O’Connell commented: “This was a case of dishonesty, involving prolonged and repeated lies about the mental ill health of a family member to both her employer and her professional colleagues.
“There was no evidence of remediation or engagement. There was no indication in the last two years that she had re-engaged with her profession or with her regulator, or that she had any wish to do so, nor has she updated her contact details with the HCPC.”
The panel concluded that Mrs Taylor’s fitness to practise remains impaired and a striking off order was the appropriate course of action.
Mrs Julie A Taylor was not present nor represented at the hearing.
