Radiographer who exposed patients to ‘unnecessary radiation’ struck off

A radiographer has been struck off the HCPC Register for demonstrating unsafe clinical practice.

Following a substantive review of a previous suspension order, an HCPC panel found Jane Little ‘unwilling to resolve matters’ in striking her off.

The panel heard that Mrs Little was originally suspended for six months on the grounds of misconduct whilst employed by Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Her failings including injecting a patient with the wrong radiopharmaceutical and exposing patients to unnecessary radiation.

Panel Chair Maurice Cohen commented: “Mrs Little has shown a persistent lack of insight, and her failure to address her misconduct in accordance with the guidance given by previous panels indicated that she is unable or unwilling to resolve matters.”

She was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
