For many nascent researchers (and even more experienced ones), statistics can be spine-chilling. Vitally important, but challenging.

The Council for Allied Health Professions Research can take the dread out of stats. The CAHPR handy top 10 tips on planning and performing statistical analyses covers:

  1. Planning
  2. Hypothesis
  3. Measurement levels
  4. Errors
  5. Management
  6. Assumptions
  7. Descriptive statistics
  8. Inferential statistics
  9. Powers
  10. Clinical significance

The CAHPR supports radiographers to take the first steps in research, as well as providing opportunities for learning, sharing, networking and collaborations. The Society is one of 13 AHP organisations that are part of CAHPR and the Society’s professional and education manager, Dr Rachel Harris, is the chair of the Council’s steering committee.
