In January the University of Salford School of Health Sciences held a successful careers event for 3rd year radiography students.
The afternoon was sponsored by Biobank who provided fuel for the students (in the form of cupcakes) as they browsed the stands hoping to find themselves their perfect first job.
Local NHS hospitals supported the event, and Andrew Tootell, 3rd Year Manager at the University, recongised the importance of this close partnership bwteen HEIs and local trusts.
“We are continually grateful to the support we receive from our local NHS Trusts. The students had an enjoyable afternoon and we hope they were inspired to find their perfect role,” he said.
Claire Mercer, also from the University, added: “It is important for our students to get an overall view of the options that are available to them when they qualify.
“Allowing them to discuss different role options in a relaxing environment is essential.”
Such was the success of the day that next year the university is considering opening its careers day to students in their second year.
