Last month the University of the West of England hosted the annual Allied Health Professions Conference celebrating research from both students and staff.
A wide variety of projects were showcased, including final year dissertations from undergraduate radiography students and MSc/PhD projects from lecturers, as well as a selection of posters from pre and post registration students.
The radiography stream was attended this year by SCoR president Steve Herring who outlined the current SCoR research strategy and offered support and encouragement to all who took part.
As noted by Dr. Mary Cramp the AHP Associate Head of Department (Research): “The Allied Health Professions Conference student conference is a great opportunity for students to present their research to a multi-disciplinary audience and within discipline streams to gain experience for future conference presentations.
“We had an interesting and diverse programme for the radiography stream and enjoyed excellent presentations by graduating students.”
The radiography stream organising team, Andrea Maggs (Senior Lecturer, Radiotherapy & Oncology) and Rob Stewart (Senior Lecturer, Diagnostic Imaging) wish to extend their thanks to sponsors MacMillan and congratulations to Amy Walkman (Year 3 Radiotherapy & Oncology student) who was awarded one of the MacMillan prizes for cancer related research by students.
