A 'flexible approach' to former members of the radiography workforce who are looking to return to practice during the pandemic has been promised by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Evidence will continue to be required to ensure that returners can demonstrate the ability to meet the standards, but allowances are being made for challenges that returners may face such as:
- The time taken for an applicant to complete requirements - now extended to 24 months.
- Evidence accepted as proof of ‘supervised practice’, and
- Alternative forms of ‘formal study’.
