A set of six patient information posters have been released by the Clinical Imaging Board (CIB).
Designed to be displayed in department waiting rooms, the posters provide information about individual imaging procedures. The series includes:
- Nuclear medicine tests
- Dental X-rays
- CT scans
- Symptomatic mammograms
- X-rays
- Tests and treatments using fluoroscopy
Steve Herring, SCoR past-president and former chair of the CIB, said, “The posters provide clear and accessible information for patients and carers.
“They complement the expertise of staff by answering questions patients may have while they are in the waiting room.”
The posters were created for CIB by a group of professionals involved in imaging including clinical scientists, radiologists and radiographers, and they were tested with lay members and patient representatives.
The CIB is a collaboration between the Royal College of Radiologists, the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and the Society and College of Radiographers.
