The Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR) are two separate companies operating together to provide service and support for those involved in radiography. Together they comprise the professional body and trade union for those practicing in medical imaging and radiotherapy.
The Society of Radiographers has an exciting opportunity to join our team of National and Regional Officers. We are looking for a positive and knowledgeable leader with the skills, capacity and enthusiasm to influence and lead on all aspects of industrial relations and professional practice across Wales.
The successful applicant will advise, support and coach our team of local Representatives working across Health boards and private sector Health providers in all areas of their work supporting SoR members.
They will work with the current National Officer as part of a shared role. They will be proactive in the development of Health Policy for Wales, whilst ensuring members and the Council for the Society are encouraged to assist with this objective.
They will also seek to influence national Health policy and outcomes for SoR members by making representations to employers and wider stakeholders. These include the Welsh Parliament, in partnership with the Society’s Welsh Executive Committee, other health unions and health bodies in Wales.
They’ll also help co-ordinate and deliver our Representative recruitment, development and training programmes to maximise the effectiveness of local member support and engagement across Wales with opportunities to help shape and develop our UK wide programmes.
The role allows a high degree of flexibility and will be home based, although there is a requirement for extensive travel, including some overnight stays away from home, particularly given the National nature of the role.
