The Radiotherapy Pre-Treatment Special Interest Group’s Annual Meeting will take place in London on 21 June at the Royal Free Hospital

The SoR's Radiotherapy Pre-Treatment Special Interest Group’s annual meeting, taking place 21 June, will provide a place for specialists to network, share learning and discuss student experience.

Taking place at the Peter Samuel Hall in the Royal Free Hospital in London this month, the meeting is intended to help pre-treatment specialists network and share learning of pre-treatment specific considerations. 

Innovation and knowledge-sharing

Chair of the Pre-Treatment Special Interest Group James Barber added these considerations include “use of IV contrast, motion management and advanced practice in palliative radiotherapy, as well as looking at how we can improve the student experience and learning with regards to pre-treatment in both the clinical and academic setting.”

Other talking points on the agenda include:

  • Advanced Practice - Palliative
  • Motion Management - 4DCT
  • Motion Management - Abdominal Compression
  • Image Quality - Contrast Optimisation
  • Radiation Protection - Implementation of Inclusive Pregnancy Status Checking

Among the talks given there will also be advice on developing a consultant practice service, a discussion of research opportunities available with industry and a discussion on the latest innovations in a variety of topic areas.

The meeting will be available to attend online for anyone that is unable to make it in person. Complimentary lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
