Six grants and awards from the College of Radiographers are now open for applications.

The awards fund a range of activities for successful applicants, including registration fees, accommodation and research projects.

The nearest application deadline - 17 March 2025 - is for the UKIO Attendance Grant. This grant provides funding for radiographers attending the 2025 UKIO conference in Liverpool who are presenting a proffered paper for the first time. The grant applies to oral presentations and does not apply to poster presentations.

Eligible applicants for this grant must meet certain criteria set by the College. For example, they must be based in the UK, have been a continuous SoR member for a minimum of two years (excluding time spent in student membership), and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

CoRIPS awards

Four of the awards provide funding for CoRIPS-related activities. CoRIPS is a grant that funds research projects related to any and all aspects of radiography practice.

The Student CoRIPS: UKIO Pre-registration Student Attendance Award funds two students to attend UKIO. The funding is up to £600 per student and covers travel, accommodation, registration and subsistence costs. The deadline for applications is 21 March.

To receive the Pre-registration Student Dissertation Award, eligible students must be nominated by teaching teams that deliver programmes approved by the SoR. Successful recipients will be awarded £300, which will be presented at the SoR’s Radiography Awards. This event takes place each November in London.

The deadline for this award is 30 May.

The final two CoRIPS awards are grant calls and take place in two rounds. The deadline for the first round is 25 April and the deadline for the second round is 6 October.

Applications for these grants are considered on a first come, first served basis. A maximum of 10 applications are assessed per round. Bids of up to £5,000 for small projects and up to £10,000 for one larger project will be reviewed.

The goal is to support one grant for an individual with little or no experience in carrying out research and development projects.

Doctoral Fellowship Grant

The final grant for this year is the CoR Doctoral Fellowship Grant.

The Doctoral Fellowship Grant awards two fellowship grants of up to £25,000 for candidates within five research topics: accuracy and safety, technological innovations, public and patient experience, service and workforce transformation and education and training.

Candidates must be full SoR members and registered with the HCPC. In addition, they should also have a full or conditional offer for doctoral studies at a UK university within one of the five aforementioned research topics and contribute a minimum of one submission to Radiography. The deadline for the CoR Doctoral Fellowship Grant is 7 April.
