November has always been a special month for our members, write SCoR chief executive officer Richard Evans.
World Radiography Day takes place on the 8th, of course, and, in pre-pandemic times, celebrations for the Radiographer of the Year Awards happening at a similar time too.
While our event programme isn’t quite back to normal, it is still a perfect time to celebrate. ‘Celebrating and promoting the profession’ is the theme of our WRD posters and I’d like to congratulate those who entered the competition, especially the winning designers:
You can download their posters in various sizes.
Take part in #myradcolleague
We want to hear from you again on social on #WRD2021 and beyond about a colleague you’d like to spotlight. Tag us (@SCoRMembers) in your messages and let us know about your #myradcolleague and why they should be celebrated.
Apply for the Valerie Carr Award
I’d like to take a moment to highlight the new College of Radiographers bursary supporting the next generation of therapeutic radiographers. If you are a support worker or a member considering a second degree in radiotherapy in England or Wales, you could be eligible for this new bursary.
Nominate someone for the Radiography Excellence Awards
Our Radiographer of the Year Awards have been on hold for the past two years. As we move back to face-to-face events, we’ve decided to hold a special version of these awards in March 2022. The Radiography Excellence Awards will celebrate individuals, teams and students for excellence during the pandemic.
Thanks also to our sponsors Bayer for supporting this year's World Radiography Day.
Remember, however you choose to celebrate, do take pride in our wonderful profession and don’t forget to share your celebrations with us! #WRD2021
