Following Society of Radiographers engagement as part of the national steering group for the HCPC AHP Preceptorship Principles and NHSE Preceptorship Standards and Implementation Framework, the Society is now seeking to further support the development of this work within the radiography profession.
Therefore, the SoR invites expressions of interest to undertake a scoping project in relation to preceptorship in diagnostic and therapeutic radiography. The outcomes of the scoping project will be used to inform the development of profession-specific recommendations and/or resources for the radiography workforce.
Expressions of interest are encouraged from individuals, organisations, or a consortium that have demonstrable evidence and experience of work within this field.
The Society will consider expressions of interest up to a total of £30,000 (exc. VAT), which demonstrate good value for money and appropriate use of funding.
Project Overview
Project Title: Preceptorship in Radiography: Cross-sectional Scoping of Profession Specific Needs
Project Aim: Determine profession specific preceptorship needs to support the implementation of the HCPC AHP Preceptorship Principles and NHSE Preceptorship Standards and Evaluation Framework.
Objectives:
- Set up and lead a radiography preceptorship steering group to support the delivery of the following three workstreams:
- Collection and analysis of data relating to the early career period/preceptee for the radiography profession, including availability and structure of preceptorships and possible impact on retention.
- Collection and analysis of data relating to preceptor needs, requirements and capacity.
- Collection and analysis of data relating to profession specific service needs and requirements in relation to preceptorship.
- Provide a final summary report of the findings from the three workstreams, to include profession specific recommendations which complement the HCPC AHP Preceptorship Principles and NHSE Preceptorship Standards and Implementation Framework.
Suggested Deliverables:
