This summer marks the end of an era for a cohort of radiography graduates who began their pre-registration studies during the first wave of the Covid pandemic.
It has been a challenging journey, where students have navigated uncertainty in clinical, academic and societal environments, pushing themselves to progress and thrive in the most difficult circumstances – and they have.
I have had the pleasure of watching this year group as they embraced opportunities to reflect on adversity, steer on service improvement, and drive change in our profession. Never once claiming to be ‘just students’, this cohort, and those who have followed since, have demonstrated leadership, partnership and vision as they have moved toward becoming registered professionals.
A particular thank you to those members of our SoR student network who have now graduated, leaving behind a legacy of community, structure and inspiration as they take on their new roles in general X-ray, CT, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and research. I am truly excited to see what comes next for these new professionals.
So, on behalf of myself, and all here at the SoR, we wish you the very best of luck and happiness in your next adventure and look forward to working alongside you in your future endeavours.
Congratulations, Class of 2023!
Best wishes,
Nichola Jamison
