Calls to complete the Diagnostic Radiography Workforce Snapshot Census

The census collects data on establishment and vacancy rates of the diagnostic radiography workforce

Published: 06 June 2024 Surveys

The deadline to complete the Diagnostic Radiography Workforce Snapshot Census has been extended to Friday 14 June 2024.

The SoR urge all radiology service managers (and equivalent roles) to complete the census on behalf of the diagnostic radiography (medical imaging) services in their hospital or workplace.

Individuals who are responsible for multiple sites are encouraged to submit a response per site, while national independent or private healthcare providers should provide one single response to cover all their UK sites.

Service managers can complete the census here.

About the survey

Having recognised that service managers are required to provide many other data submissions each year, the SoR have streamlined its survey to focus on two key areas of the diagnostic radiography workforce – establishment and vacancy rates.

Respondents are only required to provide information around two main questions relating to these areas, which should take them less than 12 minutes to complete.

Why should members complete the census?

Data from survey will build an accurate snapshot of the current establishment and vacancy rates within diagnostic radiography.  The SoR will use this insight to strengthen calls for investment in the workforce.

As a trade union and professional body, the SoR is involved in discussions with government stakeholder bodies around pay review, terms and conditions, and developing practice to support improved outcomes for patients.
