The Society of Radiographers (SoR) is inviting members from Scotland, the South East, and Eastern regions to apply for a seat on its UK Council.
This is an opportunity to represent the interests of your region at the highest level of a recognised professional body and trade union for the radiography workforce. Elected candidates will become company directors of SoR, playing a key role in governance and influencing the organisation’s strategic direction.
Joining UK Council offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth. Members will receive a full induction, training, and be mentored by a more experienced council member. The role also provides a platform to enhance leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. Learn more about the role of council members.
Successful candidates will serve a three-year term, with the option to stand for up to two further terms. If more than one eligible nomination is received for a region, a ballot will take place in April, allowing all eligible members in that region to vote.
SoR members interested in joining UK Council should complete the online application form by 5pm on 17 March. They will need to prepare an election address that outlines how their skills and experience makes them an ideal candidate and provide endorsements from four SoR members in their region. Read SoR's guidance on preparing a nomination.
This is a fantastic opportunity for SoR members to get involved at a strategic level, influence key decisions, and help shape the future of the radiography profession.
