Final call to complete the SoR Ultrasound Census

Help shape the future of sonographer regulation by sharing your insights

Published: 14 January 2025 Ultrasound

The Society of Radiographers (SoR) is urging sonographer managers to participate in its ultrasound census before it closes on 17 January 2025.

Launched in December 2024, the census seeks to provide an accurate view of staffing across the NHS and independent sectors. This year’s expanded survey includes additional workforce questions designed to address critical workforce planning challenges and strengthen calls for statutory regulation of sonographers.

The SoR highlights the importance of robust data to support advocacy efforts for regulation, especially in light of the Professional Standards Authority's (PSA) review of the Register of Clinical Technologists. Contributions from both NHS and independent providers are essential to building a compelling case for change.
