Radiographers are being asked to donate portable equipment to support x-ray services in Ugandan Hospitals.
Teresa Dawkes, a volunteer with the Rotary Doctors Bank Charity and senior radiographer at Countess of Chester Hospital, said, “We visited Kamuli Hospital last year. Since then, we have learnt that their x-ray machine is broken and cannot be repaired, meaning that patients travel two hours if they need an x-ray. The hospital is in a very poor area of Uganda and they do not have the money to replace it.
"Equipment used on home domiciliary visits, or portable block x-ray kit used by vets, which is similar to the equipment they already have in Uganda, would be ideal."
Please contact Teresa if you can help.
