The escalation of the national response to the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting everyone to some extent, and will be bringing additional pressures into our clinical services for the foreseeable future.
As you continue to look after our patients at the front line of the healthcare system, contributing to the collective effort to keep services open for the public in these exceptional circumstances, please know that you have our sincere support and gratitude.
I want to say thank you to each and every one of you and express how very proud I and all of UK Council are of Radiographers and all our members everywhere, and the way in which you demonstrate resilience and resourcefulness in very challenging situations.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to all our members, to your families, communities and any patients affected by this unprecedented global event. As the pandemic evolves on a daily basis, feeling overwhelmed when looking for accurate information, or being anxious about the health of friends and family, will be just a few of the individual concerns we will all face.
Society as a whole is facing pressures, the like of which have not been experienced in a generation. During this difficult period, community and feeling connected and supported, are incredibly important. Please remember the Society and College of Radiographers is always here for you.
If you have a questions about your membership or need work-place based advice and support, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
You can also join the conversation and share your experiences via our many social channels: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
As always, all of our safety and wellbeing and that of the patients we care for, remains the fundamental priority for the SoR.
On behalf of the Society of Radiographers and UK Council, thank you again for your dedication to our profession.
Wishing you all the best.
Gill Hodges, President
