It has been good to hear the many reports of great work in radiotherapy and imaging departments across the UK. Members of the Society of Radiographers are contributing brilliantly to the front line of health care.
I know also of the contributions our members are making away from the frontline. The pressures in education are different but are just as tough. SoR members that are working to sustain the essential supply of professionals for the future of our profession are also doing a heroic job under extraordinary pressure.
It is remarkable that research, planning, coaching and training (along with the many other roles that radiographers fulfil behind the scenes) are being sustained despite the Covid-19 emergency.
Members that volunteer as reps, committee members and advisory group members, authors, editors and counsellors. All of you are keeping the profession and our members going and I want you to know that I am so proud to be your President at this extraordinary time.
I know that SoR members are involved at every level of the response to the pandemic. We are achieving recognition for these contributions which extends well beyond the UK.
On behalf of SoR UK Council, thank you!
